Stagecraft Advanced
Capstone, Grades 10-12, 1 year, 1 credit
The advanced student will work along with Stagecraft students in some projects, but will have more challenging objectives to meet. Some projects will be more complex and may differ from the basic projects of Stagecraft. Emphasis will be placed on mastery of skills with an emphasis on analysis of the effective use of elements, principles, and expressive qualities in a performance or production. Research, implementation, and analysis of new methods and technologies in drama production will be a major focus of this course. Leadership and group directing will be another focus. This course may require attendance at live theatre performances outside the school day, which will be tied to curricular assignments.
(Prerequisite: Stagecraft or permission from the instructor).
